Summary
Seventeen years of
analysis, applications programming, and consulting
experience with projects representing a wide range of
industries and skills. Five consecutive years of
full-time J.D. Edwards World development experience with
the intention of transitioning to J.D. Edwards One World
in the near future. Founded McQuinn & Associates in
1988 and continues to manage the company while working
full-time in the field for clients.
Project
History
- Consolidating disparate MS
Access databases into a shared client/server
system using AS/400 physical files connected to MS
Access applications using ODBC, stored procedures,
and Active X for Data Objects.
- Assisted an international
publishing company with upgrading their J.D.
Edwards manufacturing software from the A6.2
release to the A7.3 release. This required
identifying and documenting custom manufacturing
modifications made to the A6.2 release and
evaluating their functionality in the A7.3
release. Worked as both a technical resource and
assisted with project management.
- Fully trained by J.D. Edwards
as a One World developer. Training includes Forms
Design, Advanced Tools, Enterprise Report Writing
I and II, and System Administration. Currently
J.D. Edwards certified in One World Report Design.
- Designed, developed, tested
and implemented a custom system to update J.D.
Edwards sales data with current sales force
crediting information received from sales
management via Microsoft Excel. Automated and
documented all procedures to upload the data to
the AS/400, error checking the data, and process
in batch. All AS/400 programs developed using the
J.D. Edwards CASE tools.
- Provided daily production
support for J.D. Edwards Accounts Payable system.
- Recovered critical sales
orders and restored their proper J.D. Edwards
status codes to allow customer billing after a
major J.D. Edwards to warehouse management system
malfunction.
- Worked as a technical
resource during two year project to convert a
company using J.D. Edwards to Y2K compliance
without upgrading to a compliant release including
all interfacing software.
- Provided production
support and troubleshooting for J.D. Edwards
General Accounting system.
- Implemented a
POSPORT credit card processing system including
all necessary J.D. Edwards modifications and
testing.
- Interfaced Vertex
tax software to J.D. Edwards standard sales
modules as well as the client’s custom order
return and EDI systems.
- Technical Lead for a
Boston company converting PC based financials to
J.D. Edwards.
- Converted
a retailer from a Texas
Instruments system to the AS/400.
- Aided
in the design, coding, and
testing of a costing system for a
large publishing company.
- Extensively
modified Pansophic software to
meet the specific needs of a
plastics manufacturer. Also
designed, coded, tested and
implemented an integrated
production scheduling system for
the same company.
- Participated
in much of the programming and
some of the analysis and design
for a financial advisory
company's mutual fund system.

tested, and implemented an
infection control system for a
large regional hospital.
- Designed,
coded, tested, and implemented a
physical inventory system for a
rubber products manufacturer
using Pansophic software.

a complimentary textbook analysis
system for a large publisher.
